FAQ

  • What's the difference between a psychologist and a provisional psychologist?

A psychologist is a trained and registered professional who has completed their training and supervision requirements. A provisional psychologist is in the process of completing their required supervised practice to become a fully registered psychologist. We offer services from both types of practitioners. While both hold the foundational knowledge to assist clients, provisional psychologists work under the guidance of experienced psychologists and typically offer services at a reduced rate.

  • How do I know if counselling is right for me?

Counselling can be helpful for individuals who are looking to better understand themselves, improve relationships, manage emotions or navigate significant life changes. If you feel stuck, have difficulty coping with daily stressors, or just need someone to talk to, counselling may be a valuable resource for you. It is especially appropriate for those who may not have a diagnosed mental health condition but are struggling with the pressures of life, seeking personal development, or aiming to break maladaptive patterns that affect their daily functioning. Alternatively, it can offer support during times of bereavement, providing a space to process loss and adapt to significant life changes.

  • What is a support worker?

A support worker is an allied health professional who provides practical and emotional support to individuals with mental health concerns. They work collaboratively with other mental health professionals, such as psychologists and counsellors, to assist clients in achieving their goals and improving their wellbeing.
